Spotlight: Talmadge Brothers

Talmadge Brothers began twelve years ago out of necessity. In 2003 the Ball Ground Volunteer Fire Department was looking for a new fundraising opportunity, and landed upon the notion of a haunted attraction in the form of the Haunted Hollow Hayride, After three years of operation, citing difficulties with weather, and land & tractor acquisition, the decision was made to move the attraction indoors. In 2006 Talmadge Brothers Funeral Home and Casket Company opened to the public for the first time. Talmadge Brothers ran for three seasons in the City of Ball Ground until the fire department abandoned the idea of a haunted attraction fundraiser.

In 2011 the creative team behind the original Talmadge Brothers joined forces once again to reopen the attraction on a much grander scale, Talmadge Brothers found a suitable location in a 10,000 square foot building that formerly housed a gymnasium, as well as an American Legion Post.

Talmadge Brothers today is a far cry from the Talmadge Brothers of nine years ago. Today, Talmadge Brothers employs film industry professionals in both art direction and special make-up effects work. Talmadge Brothers also features multiple celebrity guests every year, ranging from such horror staples as “The Walking Dead” to “Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”

For the 2015 season Talmadge Brothers has added several new elements for guest enjoyment, including: a display in our extended queue explaining how Talmadge Brothers creates monsters through the special make-up effects process, a film and surround sound display featuring popular horror movies in our main queue to keep guests entertained while they wait, updated and upgraded effects throughout the attraction, plus an extended attraction path, creating an even longer and terrifying experience.

Talmadge Brothers is open Fridays & Saturdays throughout the month and will be open Thursday-Sunday on Halloween weekend. Tickets can be purchased onsite for $15 and Dead End Fast Passes can be purchased for $25. “Stay & Scream” is a fantastic perk with your ticket purchase as guests may walk thru the haunt as many times as they want on the night of ticket purchase (AWESOME!!!) Check out their Facebook page & website for coupons and announcements.

On Saturday, October 24th there will be a special guest appearance from AMC’s The Walking Dead. Walkers Alex Wayne & Tony Gowell will be onsite signing autographs and taking photos from 7pm-midnight. This is your chance to meet the walkers, ask a few questions, and purchase memorabilia. Only at Talmadge Brothers Funeral and Casket Company Haunted Attraction!
